Genographic Results part II
Well I received my Genographic results on my maternal side, the “mtDNA” and it turns out it is “H”. Just “H”, no other sub group. The majority of the Europeans have the haplogroup H with a frequency of 40%–50%, with it decreasing in the southeast of the continent, reaching 20% in the Near East. This doesn’t surprise me since my maternal grandmother’s side originated in Central Europe, Saarbrucken Germany to be exact. Genographic gives a nice little narrative on the origin of H. I will be checking back periodically because they will be posting more information as the study continues. Now Rosalind has done one and Jean got her Uncle Bob to submit two kits, so we await those results.
